1. What Data We Collect

We only collect what we need to run a safe farmer dating service. Nothing more. Here’s the full list, broken down by when we collect it.

Information you give us directly

Account basics: your email address, a password (stored encrypted, never in plain text), your first name or display name, date of birth (to confirm you’re 18+), and your state. A phone number is not required to sign up.

Profile details: photos you upload, your bio, what kind of farming or rural life you’re into, badges you pick (Family Farm, Organic, Ranch Life), faith or values preferences, and the kind of relationship you’re looking for. You choose what to share.

Messages and communications: the messages you send to other members, support emails you send us, and survey responses if you choose to take part.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, our servers record standard web data: your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the time and date of your visit. We do not track your GPS location, and we don’t follow you across other websites.

Payment information

If you upgrade to premium, your card details are handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We never see or store your full card number - we only keep the last four digits and a transaction ID so we can show receipts and process refunds.

2. Cookies We Use

We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working and to understand which pages are helpful. The short version: essential cookies keep you logged in, analytics cookies tell us that (for example) the Iowa page gets more visits than Maine, and preference cookies remember your dark-mode setting.

We don’t use advertising cookies and we don’t sell cookie data to ad networks. For the full breakdown - including names, durations, and how to turn them off - read our Cookie Policy.

3. Sharing With Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. Full stop. We also don’t trade it, rent it, or hand it to data brokers. That’s the single most common concern we hear from folks coming off mainstream apps, and our answer is simple: that’s not our business model.

We do share limited information with a small number of service providers who help us run the site, and only for that purpose:

  • Payment processor (Stripe): to charge premium subscriptions and issue refunds.
  • Email delivery (Postmark): to send sign-up confirmations, password resets, and message notifications.
  • Cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services): to store the site and your data on secure servers in the United States.
  • Analytics (privacy-friendly, aggregated only): to count page views - no personal profiling.

Your profile photos and details are only visible to other logged-in members on the platform. They do not appear in Google search results, and we block search-engine indexing of profile pages. We’ll only disclose data to law enforcement when we receive a valid legal order, and we’ll tell you when we’re allowed to.

Our plain-English promise: We don’t sell your data. We don’t track your location. Your profile doesn’t show up on Google. Your phone number isn’t required to sign up.

4. Your Rights and Choices

You’re in charge of your information. Depending on where you live (California, EU, or elsewhere), you may have additional rights under laws like CCPA or GDPR - but we extend these choices to every member, everywhere:

  1. Access a copy of your data. Email [email protected] and we’ll send you a download within 30 days.
  2. Correct anything that’s wrong. Most profile fields are editable directly from your account page; for anything else, drop us a line.
  3. Erase your personal data. You can delete your profile and all associated data anytime from the Account Settings page.
  4. Opt out of marketing emails. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom; service emails (like password resets) can’t be opted out of while your account is active.
  5. Hide your profile. You can temporarily pause visibility without deleting your account - useful during harvest or calving season.
  6. Complain to a regulator. EU residents can contact their local Data Protection Authority; California residents can contact the California Privacy Protection Agency.

5. Deleting Your Account and Data

Deleting your account is a two-click job from the Account Settings → Delete My Account page. When you delete, your profile is removed from public view and becomes inaccessible to other members immediately. We remove the underlying personal data from our active systems within 30 days, except for a minimal transaction record we’re required to keep for tax and anti-fraud purposes (usually seven years).

A heads-up on billing: if you’re a paid premium member and you delete your account, any remaining paid time is forfeited - we don’t pro-rate refunds on deletions. If you subscribed through a mobile app store, you’ll need to cancel the subscription separately through that store’s billing settings. Direct card subscriptions are cancelled automatically on deletion.

For the full cancellation walk-through, see our How It Works page or our FAQ.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy in a way that materially changes how we handle your data, we’ll email every active member at least 30 days before the change takes effect and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Minor wording changes (typo fixes, clearer phrasing) may be made without notice.
